I just sent this e-mail out, and figured I would put it on the blog too, as I don’t have everyone’s e-mail addresses, and I know I have some blog stalkers out there, that are secretive ( ha ha – you know who you are!)  So, you may already know all this, or have read it a time or two, but I am putting a great song on here too!!<\/span><\/p>\n

I just wanted to give you a quick update on my trip to the liver specialist yesterday.  So as of tomorrow, it will have been 6 weeks since my surgery – it’s amazing how slow and fast time can go….  <\/div>\n

Anyways,  first things first – it is all good news….<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
The growth was benign and the pathology reports it as only about 8 cm, but the surgeon kept saying how big it was (like 3 or 4 times he kept saying it!) as he held his hand in a great big cup shape!  I found out that I have (had) gal stones, and the gal bladder was in the way, so they took that out too – hmmmm ok,  and they took out more of the liver than I had thought, I think he said it was most of section 5 and 6 – almost 30% of my liver was taken out!  I thought they were just going to have to take a sliver off – but that is how the story panned out..  <\/div>\n

So, I have been given a clean bill of health, he says I can start running, biking and swimming anytime (but I honestly don’t feel up to it yet )  So, you may see me out on the road, you may not – – – – I will be listening to my body – ( I heard you all sigh with relief!  ha ha)  But I do look forward to the day when I feel normal again – – – <\/div>\n

Now this song – I thought it was an appropriate reminder that we are all breakable, not only physically, but emotionally –  we need to be gentle with ourselves ( this is a big one for me – especially as I am recovering).  This is a tough road, but I am choosing to live it – however it may be……  <\/div>\n

Oh, yesterday we stopped at an Indigo bookstore and bought a few books – – – I love books!  But the one we bought that I started reading right away was Brene Brown’s “The Gifts of Imperfection”<\/a>  It is so great!!  Some of you may know that I LOVE self-help books – – – – and as I read this book, I feel like I am reading my own life in so many ways!!!  I have had an interest in all things brene brown for quite a while, and I have even posted a video of her on my blog – way back when. . . . .February 5 to be exact…. <\/div>\n
