The days are long, but the years are short! I love it!
I got this book (The happiness project) for Christmas, and I am trying some of the things in the book. . . it is great – I love the structure of it! So, I just had to share this little video clip.
So a quick update in our long days/night and short years. . . .
Yesterday Emma was on a ski trip with the grade 9’s ( yes, years are short moment – she is in grade 9!) She had a collision with the snow and her face, and had a bit of trauma and drama. We took her to the hospital last night, and spent 2 1/2 hours there (days are long). Found out that they won’t and can’t do anything until the swelling goes down, so we have to give it a couple of days and then see what the damages are. She has a constant headache, her neck is sore and her nose is swollen, and starting to turn some lovely shades of green and purple.
So, Duane brought Emma home about midnight and just climbed into bed, when Kate began to cough or bark – I know that sound – she has croup. But I have never had a kid wake up in the night without any warning signs – no cold, no cough in the day – just bam – she was wheezing and barking! (and crying) – ( another – nights are long moment) We got her up, and her lips were blue – she was not doing well, we ran her into the hospital 5 minutes after just being there – unbelievable! She got right in, no waiting – amazing what blue lips will do ( they weren’t blue when we got there, but she was really wheezing. So we did the croup thing, and then I had to stay with her there for 2 hours. She slept – I layed with her. . . and closed my eyes a bit. Just after 2am – they let us come home. . . she wanted to sleep with me – how do you say no to that! Then at 6am, she was rarin’ to go – amazing!
This morning we spent the morning at the dentist for check-ups. Clara got her crooked baby tooth pulled out, I made 4 follow up appointments for fillings – oh the fun of having a big family. . .
The days are long, but the years are short!
I love that, the day are long but the years are short. Ohhh I might be stealing that at sometime!! Sorry about the hospital trauma.
